With over 90 ZF5 swap kits sold, we should see a few swap pictures...

Please share any pictures and/or details about your swap.

I have the prototype of Tim's adapter and installed it on my 351M in my '81 F150.  Put a used ZF5-42 behind it and loved it.

This was before Tim's complete kits were available, so I pieced mine together.  I used the original 351M flywheel and moved the ring gear forward as far as it would go on the flywheel, and then used a starter for a 351W with an automatic transmission.  The clutch was the smallest one that fit a ZF's input shaft and would fit under the pressure plate.  And the throwout bearing was from a Dodge because the one that came with the clutch kit got eaten by the throwout arm.

Boy do I wish Tim's kit had been available then.  Going with a one-stop kit would have made life much more simple and saved me a lot of headaches.

Let's see what I can do, Tim.

First, this was done when I was active on FTE, so it was documentation in the thread Dad's ZF5 Swap.  So folks can go there to see the nitty gritty details, which includes the CAD drawings that eventually begat the adapter, pictures of the machining of it, problems with the throwout bearing, etc.  And I have to warn people that it is a loooooooooooong thread!  So they should be VERY thankful you are making the adapters and selling the whole kit.  My journey was long and fraught with problems.

And here are shots of the flywheel bolted to the crank via the adapter, the clutch installed, and finally the transmission installed:

Gary - I notice the channel used for the rear mount - was this in order to use the existing crossmember?

That's not channel.  That's part of the crossmember itself.  I wish I could tell you the part number thereof, but can probably find it if you need it.
