The machined groove now restricts oil to all five locations, eliminating the need for a screw-in restrictor. Orienting the bearing hole to the three or four o’clock position gives 100% bearing material for the camshaft in the vertical direction. A revolving shaft develops a “wedge” of oil in the four to six o’clock location. Having the supply hole in the three to four o’clock position feeds the wedge.
